About Tsar Simeon Garden Park
History & Creation
Tsar Simeon Garden Park was created in 1891-1892 according to the design of the famous Swiss landscape architect Lucien Cheriot. The park is named after Tsar Simeon I, who ruled Bulgaria in the 9th and 10th centuries.
Architecture & Design
The park was designed in the typical style of its time with wide alleys, decorative ponds, and diverse vegetation. The Water Tower, built in 1891, is one of the symbols of Plovdiv.
