The park is adjacent to the Central Square and the main pedestrian street (Knyaz Alexander I). It's only a 10-15 minute walk from the Roman Stadium and the Old Town.

From Sofia/Plovdiv Airport

Plovdiv is easily accessible from Sofia by bus or train (approx. 2 hours). Plovdiv Airport is about 15 km away and can be reached by taxi.

From the Train/Bus Station

From Plovdiv Central Railway Station or Bus Station South, it's a 15-20 minute walk or a short bus ride (lines 7, 20, 26) to the center.

About Tsar Simeon Garden Park

History & Creation

Tsar Simeon Garden Park was created in 1891-1892 according to the design of the famous Swiss landscape architect Lucien Cheriot. The park is named after Tsar Simeon I, who ruled Bulgaria in the 9th and 10th centuries.

Architecture & Design

The park was designed in the typical style of its time with wide alleys, decorative ponds, and diverse vegetation. The Water Tower, built in 1891, is one of the symbols of Plovdiv.

Location & Nature

Located in the center of Plovdiv, the park covers an area of about 18 hectares. It offers cool shade in summer and is a favorite place for walks for both locals and tourists.
